WUST News - On May 5, a five-strong delegation from the Almalyk branch of the National University of Science and Technology MISIS, led by President Umarov Farkhodbek Yarkulovich visited WUST to discuss collaboration in talent development, faculty exchanges, and scientific research. The meeting was attended by President Ni Hongwei and Vice President Lv Yong.

President Ni welcomed the delegation and noted the strong alignment between the two universities in disciplines such as metallurgy, materials science, mining, and intelligent manufacturing. He expressed his eagerness to strengthen cooperation in academic exchanges, mutual faculty and students visits, and the joint establishment of laboratories, aiming to enhance the international standing and impact of both universities.

President Umarov Farkhodbek Yarkulovich was impressed by the WUST's robust research capabilities and global outlook. He looked forward to leveraging this visit to intensify multi-level cooperation in research, education, and joint talent development, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Participants engaged in lively discussions about short-term student exchanges, dual degree programs, faculty exchanges, and joint research initiatives. During the meeting, the universities signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a regular communication mechanism and focus on comprehensive cooperation in fields such as metallurgy, new materials, mining, and intelligent manufacturing.
