WUST News - The Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges under the Ministry of Education recently released the Approval on Extension and Modification Applications for Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Institutions and Programs at Selected Universities. The application to extend the joint master's program in Computer Science and Technology between the WUST and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam has been officially approved. According to the approval, the Ministry of Education has agreed to extend the program for three additional admissions cycles, bringing the authorization’s validity period to  December 31, 2030.

This program represents a strong partnership between the WUST and Vrije University Amsterdam, combining their strengths to jointly cultivate engineers with international perspectives in the field of artificial intelligence within computer science and technology. The program commenced its first cohort in 2020, admitting 50 students annually. The extension approval injects new vitality into the collaboration between the WUST and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. It signifies an opportunity for both institutions to deepen and expand their cooperation further, enhancing their shared educational resources, faculty development, and academic research exchanges. This will improve their professional and comprehensive abilities.

Looking ahead, WUST will leverage this extension approval to continuously optimize the content and structure of the program, improve teaching quality, strengthen faculty development, and enhance management mechanisms, thereby elevating the program's international level and impact. WUST will also continue to uphold the principle of open education. It will actively expand channels for international cooperation and exchange channels, explore new models and paths for Sino-foreign cooperative education, and contribute to the cultivation of high-quality international talents that meet the needs of economic and social development. These efforts aim to push the internationalization of higher education to new heights. (Office of International Relations)
