Approval for the program has been extended to December 31, 2033. The undergraduate program in Network Engineering, which is run jointly by WUST and Birmingham City University, has been in operation since 2015 and has now completed two agreement cycles. Throughout its operation, the program has successfully incorporated high-quality educational resources from both institutions to create a scientifically robust curriculum. The teaching incorporates advanced educational philosophies and methods from the UK, focusing on developing students' practical skills and international perspectives. Moreover, the program actively facilitates international exchange, encouraging students to participate in overseas studies and practical activities to broaden their international outlook.

Since the enrollment in 2015, the program has seen a yearly increase in both the number of enrollments and the quality of applicants, with a steady rise in the admission scores.
