WUST News The Urban Memory East West China-France-Czech Contemporary Art Exhibition was held in Beijing from 14 to 18 June. Professor Guan Jiaqing, Dean of the School of Art and Design at WUST, was invited to participate and exhibit his works Cold Dew in the Refreshing Autumn and Flower Shadow.
Using porcelain plates as paper and glaze as ink, Guan Jiaqing makes extensive use of techniques such as glaze splashing, dotting, and block smearing to achieve the overlapping and juxtaposition of up to dozens of different color glazes, including matte glaze, crackle glaze, and crystalline glaze. Finally, through the refinement of fire, they present the unique artistic characteristics of high temperature color glaze.
The exhibition invited Rémy Aron, President of the French Association of Plastic Arts (AFAP); Nathalie Miel, a French artist, Straka Jiri, a special professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and a Czech artist; Qin Kunying, the curator of the China-Czech Museum of Contemporary Art and an artist; Wu Qiang, a researcher at the Wu Guanzhong Art Research Center of Tsinghua University and an proponent of new image art, and so on. They all integrated their respective artistic languages into the "Urban Memory" cultural platforms.
The aim of this exhibition is to promote the cultural and artistic exchanges between the East and the West, to jointly build the "Urban Memory" platform, to invite relevant institutions in various cities to join and support it, and to expand the diversified development of the art, culture and creative markets.
