    NI Hongwei, President of WUST, Held an Online Exchange Meeting With UCM

    On July 28th, Ni Hongwei, President of WUST, held an online exchange meeting with Joaquín Goyache Goñi, President of Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), to promote cooperation in establishing a China-foreign cooperative educational institution.

    Ana María Quiroga Rey, Director of the President Office at UCM, Juan Carlos Izquierdo, Director of the International Office, as well as Tang Chao and Yang Liang, Lv Yong, Vice President of WUST, Xiao Qiaoling, Director of the International Relations Office of WUST, Ding Yu, Dean of the Undergraduate School of WUST, Liu Zhenxing, Dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering, and Ding Yiming, Dean of the School of Science, attended the meeting.

    In June, Juan Carlos Izquierdo and his delegation paid a visit to WUST. They held discussions with Xu Yanbing, Secretary of the Party Committee of WUST, Ni Hongwei, and Lv Yong, and reached a mutual agreement to establish a China-foreign cooperative educational institution. During this video meeting, the presidents of both universities advanced the progress of the cooperation.

    Ni Hongwei expressed great importance to the cooperation and exchange with UCM and hoped that the face-to-face communication between the two presidents would promote the two universities to achieve the cooperation intention and establish the China-foreign cooperative educational institution. He also welcomed Joaquín Goyache Goñi to visit WUST in November.

    Joaquín Goyache Goñi stated that the application for the establishment of a China-foreign cooperative educational institution with WUST coincides with the needs of both sides. He also promised to accelerate the internationalization process of the university and will make every effort to expedite this work and invited WUST to visit Spain at an appropriate time.
