WUST News (Correspondent: Yue Shuangqing) Recently, a delegation from SINOMA International Engineering Co., Ltd. and Laiyade Haoyuhan (Wuhan) Technology Development Co., Ltd. visited the International Research Institute for Iron and Steel Technology at the Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) for a meeting to discuss corrosion-resistant steel technology. The meeting was chaired by Wu Kaiming, Director of the International Institute of Iron and Steel, and attended by Vice President Ma Teng.
Ma Teng provided an overview of WUST. In recent years, WUST has adhered to the motto "Cultivate Virtue and Broad Knowledge, Value Practicality and Discard Superficiality," actively responding to the national "Belt and Road" initiative, enhancing international cooperation and exchange, continuously innovating technology, and boosting China's international competitiveness and influence in steel technology. WUST contributes wisdom and strength to the advancement of the Chinese steel industry and the achievement of high-level technological self-reliance.
Wu Kaiming presented a series of research achievements from the International Institute of Iron and Steel, and expressed his hopes to establish a strategic partnership with SINOMA International Engineering Co., Ltd. through this technical exchange to achieve mutual benefits and contribute to infrastructure development in the Middle East and other regions.
During the meeting, Zhu Mingde, head of the Saudi Comprehensive Service Center of SINOMA International Engineering Co., Ltd., presented an overview of the company and its Saudi Service Centre. Both parties discussed challenges in technology application and collaborative innovation pathways, after which they toured the laboratory.
Wu Kaiming stated that this exchange had promoted communication and understanding between the International Institute of Iron and Steel and enterprises, serving as a prime example of industry-academia-research collaboration. He looks forward to furthering this relationship through technical cooperation to achieve mutual benefits and win-win outcomes, as well as jointly promoting the high-quality development of China's steel industry.
Leaders and relevant faculty from the Office of Research and Development and the Office of International Relations attended the meeting.
