WUST News On November 3rd, Joaquín Goyache Goñi, the President of Complutense University of Madrid, along with a delegation, visited WUST. They conducted on-site research at the Huangjiahu Campus to further promote and deepen the exchanges and cooperation between our two institutions.

    Zhou Jing, Director of the Education Department of Hubei Province, Xu Yanbing, the Party Secretary of WUST, President Ni Hongwei and Vice President Lv Yong met respectively with Joaquín Goyache Goñi and his delegation, engaging in in-depth discussions.

    Director Zhou Jing introduced the higher education and international cooperation situation in Hubei Province. She expressed full support for the collaboration between WUST and Complutense University of Madrid. She also hoped that Complutense University of Madrid could leverage its advantages and academic resources to establish connections with more universities in Hubei Province, thereby enhancing the overall international exchanges and cooperation among universities in Hubei.

    Xu Yanbing expressed that Joaquín Goyache Goñi's return visit is an important outcome of the meeting between the two universities at Complutense University of Madrid in September, which has laid a solid foundation for the success of their cooperation. In the next steps, WUST will accelerate the implementation and establishment of Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run educational institutions to make them a benchmark for Chinese-foreign cooperation in Hubei Province.

    President Ni Hongwei accompanied Joaquín Goyache Goñi on a visit to the Huangjiahu Campus and relevant colleges. Ni Hongwei expressed that, with the joint efforts of both parties, the establishment of our Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run educational institution has made rapid progress. He hoped that both sides could strengthen communication and coordination with relevant government departments, actively cooperate, and expedite the implementation of the application process.

    President Joaquín Goyache Goñi expressed that the collaboration between Complutense University of Madrid and WUST to establish a Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run educational institution aligns with Complutense University of Madrid's internationalization strategy. He emphasized that this is a partnership of the future and innovation. Through recent communications, he observed that both teams are highly professional, efficient, and responsible. He further committed to actively seeking support from the Madrid Government and the central government of Spain. He also pledged to utilize all available resources at the university to ensure the success of this collaboration. This demonstrates his strong commitment and dedication to the partnership.
