WUST News Christopher Lawrence Heavey, Executive Vice President of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), and his entourage visited WUST on June 25. President Ni Hongwei and Vice President LV Yong met with the delegation.
Ni Hongwei welcomed the delegation, saying that WUST attaches great importance to the cultivation of international talents. As the cooperation with overseas high-level universities can effectively improve the talent cultivation, amplify the influence and competitiveness of WUST, Ni Hongwei looks forward to deepening understanding between the two universities, establishing partnerships, and promoting Sino-US educational cooperation and cultural exchanges.
Christopher Lawrence Heavey introduced the history of the UNLV, and its disciplines and feature specialties. He hopes that the two universities will learn from each other and carry out cooperation and exchange on base of the educational advantages of both sides.
LV Yong introduced WUST's talent cultivation, international education, and other aspects. Christopher Lawrence Heavey and LV Yong signed cooperation agreements on behalf of the two universities.
Alexander Bennett, Global Admissions Directorat the UNLV, Nancy Joe Heavy, wife of vice president at the UNLV, and Professor Deng Honghui from the School of Business, as well as the heads from the WUST's Undergraduate School, Graduate School, and Office of Development and Planning, attended the meeting.
