WUST News (Correspondent Tao Mengling) - On July 16, the organizing committee of the 17th National 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition Elite League announced its list of award winners. The School of Mechanical Engineering at Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) achieved a historic milestone, securing a total of eight national awards—including two first prizes, two second prizes, and four third prizes— marking the best performance in the school’s history.

In the digital industry track, the Personalized Intelligent Medicine Dispensing Service System, independently developed by Guo Manjun's team won the first prize. Targeting core challenges in traditional pharmacies—such as medication guidance and inventory management—the system utilizes intelligent interactive design and data analytics to enable precise and efficient management throughout the drug sales process. This innovation significantly enhances both service quality and operational efficiency in pharmaceutical retail.

The School of Mechanical Engineering has long adhered to the educational philosophy of promoting teaching, learning, application, and innovation through competitions, encouraging students to participate in high-level academic competitions. This award is an important achievement of the school's deepening of educational and teaching reforms and the improvement of talent cultivation quality. In the future, the school will take this as an opportunity to continuously strengthen the cultivation of students' innovative abilities, helping students to showcase their talents on higher platforms and contribute to industry development and social progress.

As one of China’s most influential public welfare events in digital innovation, the National 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition has been held successfully for 17 years. This year's competition, themed "Digital Intelligence Meta Productivity Creates the Future", featured four open tracks--Digital Industry, Digital Living, Digital Art, and the Metaverse--along with a special competition on the integration of digital intelligence technology innovation. The event attracted participants from over 600 universities across China, offering a national platform for young students to demonstrate their digital creativity and entrepreneurial skills while fostering deeper integration between the digital economy and real-world industries.
