WUST News (Correspondents: Chen Meihong, Zhuang Jun) - On May 20, the award ceremony for the first Hubei International Student Short Video Competition, themed "Towards the Future: Building the Yangtze Dream Together", was held in Wuhan. The event was co-hosted by the Hubei Provincial Radio and Television Bureau, Hubei Provincial Cyberspace Affairs Office, and the Provincial Department of Education. Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) was honored with the "Outstanding Performance Award".

The competition aimed to showcase the vibrant Jingchu culture and the educational dynamism of Hubei through the lens of international students, encouraging global audiences to discover, appreciate, and engage with the province. It attracted participants from over 40 colleges and universities, representing 65 countries and regions. Short videos submitted by WUST's international students were widely praised for their expressive storytelling, vividly portraying Hubei’s narratives while reflecting a deep affection for China through themes of "understanding, friendship, and love for China."
Zhuang Jun, a counselor at the School of International Education, noted that the competition ignited international students’ enthusiasm for exploring traditional Chinese culture. "It deepens their connection to China while effectively sharing authentic Chinese stories and perspectives with the global community," he stated. (School of International Education)
