WUST News - On May 19, a delegation led by David Halliwell, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University, Australia, visited the Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST). Vice President Lv Yong of WUST met with the guests, and both parties held a meeting to promote cooperation.

Lv Yong extended a warm welcome to Deakin University delegation and affirmed the achievements of the undergraduate cooperative education project in mechanical engineering run jointly by the two universities. He hoped that the WUST could continue to collaborate with Deakin University to establish an international, high-end cooperation platform and further enhance WUST’s international influence.
David Halliwell expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and introduced Deakin University's efforts in expanding international cooperation. He hoped that this visit would lead to new breakthroughs in bilateral cooperation between the two universities. During the meeting, both parties carefully sorted out the details of scientific research cooperation, academic exchanges, and the cultivation of undergraduate and postgraduate talent, reaching a consensus.

During the meeting, the two universities introduced updates to the joint teaching plan for the Mechanical Engineering program and discussed admissions for 2025 and study at Deakin University. They also discussed the joint master's program (Electronic Information) between WUST and Deakin University, the joint doctoral program, the China Scholarship Council Innovative Talent Program related to graduate and faculty exchange projects, and the 2+2 undergraduate, the 1+1+1 master's, and the 3+2 comprehensive undergraduate cooperation programs.
Leaders and faculty representatives from the Undergraduate School, Engineering Training Center, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, College of Life Science and Health, School of Management, and School of Urban Construction attended the meeting.
