WUST News (Correspondent: Wu Shuo) The WUST recently hosted the first group of teachers and students from the Ngee Ann Polytechnic for a two-week immersion programme. Vice President Lv Yong attended the closing ceremony.
On behalf of the WUST, Lv Yong warmly welcomed the students from the Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore and commended their outstanding performance during the study tour. He hoped that the students could bring back the knowledge and experiences they gained to Singapore and contribute to the development of nursing professions in both China and Singapore.
During the two-week study tour, the students attended the nursing virtual simulation experiments and courses on exploring the mysteries of the human body provided by the WUST. Through virtual simulation experiments, students simulated real nursing scenarios, enhancing their nursing skills and ability to respond effectively. In the course on exploring the mysteries of the human body, students gained in-depth knowledge of the structure and function of the human body, laying a solid foundation for their future nursing work.
The students also visited the Tianyou Hospital Affiliated to the WUST, Puren Hospital Affiliated to the WUST, Wuhan Asia Heart Hospital, and the Geriatric Hospital Affiliated to the WUST. During the visits, they gained a deep understanding of hospital operations and management and nursing services, engaged in in-depth discussions with medical staff, and explored the latest developments and practical experiences in the field of nursing. The visits provided the students with an opportunity to gain an intuitive understanding of China's medical system and nursing practices, as well as valuable experience and insights for their future career development.
The faculty and students also experienced our cultural courses and academic atmosphere. They participated in traditional cultural courses such as tea art, pitch-pot game (played by ancient Chinese at a banquet, in which the participants threw arrows into a pot), Chinese painting, and the Five Animal Frolics, experiencing the unique charm of Chinese culture. During the tea art course, the students brewed and tasted tea themselves, experiencing the essence of Chinese tea culture. In the pitch-pot game, they practiced their hand-eye coordination by throwing arrows into the pot and experienced the charm of ancient culture. Moreover, the students learned the basic techniques of Chinese painting and created charming works on rice paper using brushes. In the Five Animal Frolics course, they imitated the movements of animals, achieving the effect of exercising the body and regulating the mind.
The Office of International Relations, the International School, and teachers from the School of Medicine organized and participated in this study tour. This study tour not only strengthened the friendship and partnership between the WUST and Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore, but also enhanced the exchange and cooperation in the field of nursing education between China and Singapore.
