WUST News The special session on international education cooperation of the 2021 21st Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China has been held at East Lake International Convention Center of Wuhan lately. More than 100 representatives of domestic universities and 50 overseas delegates from over 20 worldwide universities attended the session. Centering on the theme of the session, the conference included several parts like keynote speeches, intercollegiate contract signing, and project promotion.
The theme of the special session on international education cooperation this year is building a platform for cooperation and promoting educational exchanges. A total of 11 universities in Hubei Province signed 14 cooperation agreements with foreign universities and educational institutions. The vice president of WUST Liu Jing signed the agreements with Ural Federal University via video link. Both sides reached specific cooperation agreements on materials science research, sharing of results and intellectual property rights.
Founded in 2001, Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China is based in Hubei Province. It focuses on the central and western regions and serves the whole country, and commits to recruiting talents and attracting investment for win-win cooperation. It has become the well-known brand of the national overseas Chinese affairs system to attract talents and capital and the state-level business card of Hubei's opening-up to the outside world.
The conference is led by the working group for high-level overseas talents introduction of the CPC Central Committee, sponsored by the People's Government of Hubei Province, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, and the Wuhan Municipal People’s Government, supported by China Education Association for International Exchange and organized by the Education Department of Hubei Province.
